FLTWS 2023 Tuition Scholarship to Southeastern Section Field Course

The Florida Chapter of The Wildlife Society is offering a tuition scholarship ($1,200 + expenses) for an undergrad student (or recent graduate) residing or enrolled in a college in Florida to attend the Southeastern Section’s field course at the Jones Center in Ichauway, Georgia, 12-25 June 2023 (click here for course flyer). Participants may receive up to 3 course credits through Castleton University, which can be transferred to your home school. This 2-week course provides a wide variety of hands-on field experiences in a relaxed setting, as well as great professional networking opportunities with fellow students and the cadre of instructors. The scholarship includes room and board, tuition for 3 credits, and reimbursement for travel expenses. Students are responsible for transportation to and from the Jones Center; transportation during course activities is provided.

To apply for the scholarship, submit a resume and a 1-2 page statement of your career goals and how participation in the course will help you develop as a wildlife professional. Please indicate how limited access to field-based or experiential learning opportunities may have reduced your ability to enter the field of natural resources with skills you will need to succeed. Email the application to Monica Folk at Monica.Folk@fltws.org no later than May 1, 2023. Applications will be considered as they are received, so early applications are encouraged. Feel free to be in touch if you have any questions about the course or the application process.
