This is professional work reviewing complex applications for Environmental Resource Permits, Sovereign Submerged Lands authorizations, and Consumptive Use Permits.
Job duties include:
· Reviews the environmental portion of the moderately complex applications for Environmental Resource Permits (ERPs), Sovereign Submerged Lands (SSL) authorizations, and Consumptive Use Permits (CUPs). Responsibilities may include but are not limited to performing wetland delineations; applying the Uniform Mitigation Assessment Method (UMAM); conducting site inspections; reviewing construction plans, mitigation plans, and environmental data; preparing technical staff reports and permit documents; conducting pre-application meetings and meetings during the review process to assist consultants & applicants with developing and completing applications through the design-review process; coordinating the review of projects with other review team members and the supervising RS; performing environmental assessments documenting project actions, activities, and pertinent information in e-Reg; communicating regularly with supervisor on projects with heightened concern.
· Conducts compliance activities on Environmental Resource and Consumptive Use permits. Responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting periodic site inspections, reviewing compliance submittals, responding to complaints and facilitating resolutions to non-compliance issues, performing permit determinations, coordinating with other compliance team members and supervisors, documenting compliance actions, activities and pertinent information in e-Reg;
· Public outreach; attending and/or presenting at professional training sessions, seminars or workshops; and other duties as assigned.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in biology, ecology, botany or environmental science and three years professional experience in the environmental field.
A master's degree from an accredited college or university in biology, ecology, botany or environmental science can substitute for one year of the required experience.
Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Base salary: $45,801.60
Starting salary commensurate with selected candidate's competencies and qualifications.
